AER is a creative, trauma-informed approach that uses the calming tones and vibrations of the violin to support emotional regulation, self-expression, and grounding. It combines elements of mindfulness, sound, and gentle guidance to help release stored emotions in a safe and supportive space.
Not at all. This is not a music lesson or performance—it’s a guided experience focused on emotional healing, not skill or technique.
Cherokee may use soft, intentional tones from the violin to help create a calming atmosphere or facilitate emotional release. Clients may also engage in reflective exercises, journaling, or gentle movement as part of the process.
Research has shown that music-based interventions can reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety, support trauma recovery, and improve overall emotional well-being. Many clients describe feeling lighter, more centered, and more connected to themselves after sessions.
AER is designed to complement—not replace—traditional psychotherapy. It can be integrated into individual sessions or experienced in workshops as an additional tool for healing and self-discovery.
AER can be introduced by either the therapist or the client, depending on comfort and readiness. Cherokee may gently suggest incorporating violin or sound-based techniques when it aligns with the client’s needs or therapeutic goals. Clients are always invited to decline, pause, or request AER at any time—it’s a fully collaborative and consent-based process.
You’re always welcome to request AER at any time. Clients can mention their interest during scheduling, intake, or directly in session. Cherokee will discuss what the experience might look like, answer questions, and ensure you feel comfortable before beginning. Whether you’re curious to try it once or wish to make it a recurring part of your healing process, your participation is always guided by your readiness and consent.
